چکیده

One of the challenges scientific research on sweet potatoes in semi-arid environments is to increase biomass amounts spontaneous species from Caatinga biome, such as hairy woodrose (Merremia aegyptia L.) and roostertree (Calotropis procera Ait.), for use green fertilizers during cultivation. Therefore, this study aimed agronomically economically optimize agronomic characteristics potato root production a monoculture, fertilized with equal mixture these species, over two years The experimental design was complete randomized blocks five treatments replications. consisted at 16, 29, 42, 55, 68 t ha-1 dry basis. An additional treatment planted each experiment, one without (control) another mineral fertilizer, compare maximum physical or economic efficiency. Sweet fertilization obtained optimized productive efficiency by incorporating 46.97 M. C. into soil. agroeconomic (based net income) cultivation occurred adding 41.55 Using viable technology producers who practice monocropping environments.

A Review of Green Manuring Practices in Sugarcane Production

The incorporation of ecological practices into sugarcane production and management has the potential to arrest and ameliorate the negative effects of monocropping on soil degradation and yield decline. Historically, the production of green manures as cover or break crops has been shown to improve the physical, chemical, and biological properties of soil for many crops in production agriculture....

Responses of root physiological characteristics and yield of sweet potato to humic acid urea fertilizer

Humic acid (HA), not only promote the growth of crop roots, they can be combined with nitrogen (N) to increase fertilizer use efficiency and yield. However, the effects of HA urea fertilizer (HA-N) on root growth and yield of sweet potato has not been widely investigated. Xushu 28 was used as the experimental crop to investigate the effects of HA-N on root morphology, active oxygen metabolism a...

Farming Techniques, Environmental Challenges, and Technical Efficiency of Sweet Potato Production in Abia State, Nigeria

Viable sweet potato production is hard to achieve with indiscriminate use of farm inputs, resulting to wastage and environmental damages, as consequences are common problems of arable crop farming in Abia State. Issues arising from farm input use and their corresponding implications for environment called for a study on suitable farming practices and farm-specific technical efficiency for optim...

Polarity of Production of Polyphenols and Development of Various Enzyme Activities in Cut-injured Sweet Potato Root Tissue.

Investigation of polyphenol production in cut-injured sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas Lam. cv. Kokei 14) roots by histochemical and quantitative methods showed that polyphenols were produced in striking amounts in the proximal side of the tissue pieces (2 cm thick), but only in small amounts in cells of the distal side. In response to cut injury, formation of the enzymes related to polyphenol bio...
